Project Description

This project delivers ongoing leadership and skills development training to leaders, managers, and senior volunteers within rural Alberta's non-profit and voluntary sector organizations. The development training will enable leaders and managers to build the capabilities, competencies, and creativity needed to ensure rural non-government organizations are sustainable, while providing key services to Albertans.

Expected Outcomes and Benefits

All projects go through a selection process to ensure they will improve the quality of life for Albertans. This project meets this objective through the following outcomes and benefits:

  • Increase community capacity through a stronger rural non-profit and voluntary sector
  • Increase the use of distance-learning technologies to enhance access to skills, professional development, and leadership training
  • Enhance collaboration between non-profit, public, and private sectors to better meet the needs of rural Alberta
  • Provide access to self-assessment tools, capacity coordinators, and an interactive portal that delivers professional development for non-profit organizations
