Another $30 Million in Funding to be Committed by March 2012

August 6, 2010

Rural Alberta's Development Fund (RADF) will invest another $30 million in rural Alberta communities over the next 18 months. The investment will fulfill our mandate to disburse at least $100 million to projects designed to make rural Alberta a vibrant and healthy place to live, work and play. This plan aligns with other Government of Alberta rural development strategies.

Our eligibility guidelines have not changed and Expressions of Interest from all eligible organizations will be considered. However, we are looking to support more projects that build community capacity in rural communities of 20,000 or less. This is because there is a significant need in smaller communities to establish more people and resources that can lead and/or support growth and prosperity efforts.

Groups and organizations considering submitting an Expression of Interest are encouraged to visit www.ruralablertasfund.com where they can check their eligibility by reading our program criteria and guidelines .

Under a revised agreement with the Government of Alberta, we have until March 31, 2012 to commit the $30 million. All RADF funds must be disbursed by March 31, 2014 and our final report must be submitted by the end of December 2014.
